The sharing, learning and joy continues on the June bus. I am looking forward to a new day. Most Tuesdays over recent years have been filled with a kind of restless dread- but now dull day can be an adventure- I hope (!!)
wishing everyone clarity and strengthJune 20, 2017 at 8:52 pm #4957341
3) Hey all–,
I’ve had a great day so far and am looking forward to a nice evening with the wife and kid tonight before the wife leaves on business for two (long) days.
Scared One, I know how you feel friend. Those times when you screw up get harder and harder to deal with; I am only three days since my last errata, so I feel ya.
I read something really interesting last night in the prologue to the book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. “Chronic remorse, as all the moralists are agreed, is a most undesirable sentiment. If you have behaved badly, repent, make what amends you can and address yourself to the task of behaving better next time. On no account brood over your wrongdoing. Rolling in the muck is not the best way of getting clean.”
I received the book from a friend a couple of years ago, and for some reason, decided to pick it up yesterday since I was looking for something new to keep myself busy. Well, I took this happenstance as a sign. Along with the advice from many of you, I have been able to move on from my mistake(s) and get my mind refocused on my (our) task at hand.
Welcome to Veritas and Leo21, the contributions you have already brought to the group are wonderful input. The HALT idea is something I’ve never heard of before, so I will plan on using this process to analyze possible trigger situations .
4TK–, Mother Nature sure has a great way of making us happy! I ended up running with the kiddo in the rain today, it just started coming down. It was a really refreshing feeling and my girl really had fun with the rain too
Cherry! Hope you didn’t get too pummeled with the weather today and last night, my area was spared for the most part.
Let’s keep up the work Juners!
Papa Windbag over and out.June 21, 2017 at 2:20 am #4957220
It poured here last night Papa, not as bad this morning. But it was a long night with my dog and the thunder.
aNewdawn – Thanks. Yeah I’m a little too excited for True Blood to start up again. I’ve been marathoning my DVDs over and over the past few weeks. I needed new episodes like yesterday lol.
I didn’t get that job I interviewed for last week. But that’s ok, they said it was because I would be moving soon and they wanted someone more permanent. So I’m not taking it as though they rejected me as a person. But I’m doing some babysitting for my friends this week. So I won’t be nearly as bored.
