    Needtobehere,

I know exactly how you feel, I live just a bit away from you (Greenville) and I feel like nearly everyone I talk to that participates in meetings here simply do not understand where I am coming from. For example, the overwhelming majority here seems to be in meetings for alcohol (I am, not unlike yourself, 100% addicted to hydrocodone) instead of various narcotics, and I am normally the only person from my age group that is attempting to fix my problem (I know that there are millions of us, just not here where I can find them apparently = /) so I often am either misunderstood or simply looked over. I am in the process now of trying to find an appropriate meeting that I will thrive in, I only have 6 days clean as of now.

As for the nightly glass of wine, I will not advise you either way, because frankly I just am not in a position to do so. What I can say is that the last 3 times I have tried to get sober, I have continued to smoke marijuana and it never worked out for me. Different people, different methods though.

I am very new to these forums as well, however I truly think I stumbled across something great here, as I have received nothing but overwhelming support and great advice from the few people I have met here. For that reason I think that even if they tell you the wine isn’t ok, which will probably happen, you should stay here for atleast a few weeks and see how you like it. I for one am happy for ANY support, as my ‘friends’ think that my sobriety is a standing joke.

Whatever you decide, I hope to see you around here, and it is nice to see someone from my neck of the woods. I love charleston =D. Fight the good fight!

    Quinn
