One year into the resurgence of a faith-based recovery program, leaders say they’re still trying to build up its attendance numbers.
Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step recovery program that aims to help those with a “hurt, habit or a hangup.” After a five-year hiatus, local churches restarted the Watauga program with a kickoff event on New Year’s Eve 2017. The program has since been meeting each Friday at Alliance Bible Fellowship.
However, in the last year the Watauga program has seen a few turnovers in leadership and dwindling support. This has led to the program aiming to reorganize going into 2019 and potentially look at alternative locations, according to the Celebrate Recovery Watauga County leader George Warren.
