Transparency and maintenance
How our meeting directory works
Useful meeting information starts with clear sources, honest dates, and a way to report changes.
What a listing tells you
Listings organize published information about 12-step and other peer-support groups. Coverage varies by fellowship and location. A listing is not a treatment recommendation, an endorsement, or proof that a meeting is taking place on a particular date.
Source checks and organizer confirmation are different
A source-check date means the saved information was compared with a published fellowship or host source. Some comparisons use source-specific automation. A successful page fetch alone does not establish that meeting facts are current.
Direct organizer confirmation is shown only when an authorized moderator records it. The confirmation label is withheld when the listing’s saved facts change. Every visitor should still check current access, eligibility, holiday exceptions, and the source’s time zone.
Recurring schedules are not dated event guarantees
A weekday and time describe a listed recurring pattern. They do not establish attendance on a future calendar date. We do not invent end times, physical venues, or calendar events when a source does not provide them. Unknown details are labeled explicitly.
How information changes
Meeting suggestions enter the existing moderation process. Source changes and ambiguous records are held for review rather than silently replacing protected organizer edits. A failed source fetch does not automatically remove a meeting.
Use the correction link on a listing to send a schedule, location, access, closure, or duplicate issue to a private review queue. A submitted report does not immediately change the public listing. No response deadline is promised.
Privacy and independence
Browsing does not require registration or location permission. Search filters are sent to this website to find published records. Avoid entering personal or health details. Directions and source buttons open third-party services only when you choose them.
Correction notes are stored privately for directory administrators. Do not submit medical records, private meeting credentials, another attendee’s identity, or sensitive personal information. Review the site’s privacy policy for its other data practices.
12 Step National Meetings is operated in the Sober Group / MyNew Technologies network. The directory is independent of the fellowships and hosts it links to. Advertising is separate from listing selection and does not certify a meeting. Results are alphabetical, not a suitability ranking.
