Al-Anon/Alateen, known as Al-Anon Family Groups, is an international “fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems.”
National 12 step meetings and Anonymous Groups is a growing repository of meeting data for all well-known established 12 step groups. From coast-to-coast in the USA, this is a growing and free resource to update meetings for all anonymous 12 step groups. The purpose is simple. Provide necessary logistics via maps, precisely the location of a community of people seeking recovery in a private setting. Often times, there isn’t one resource that compiles the meeting locations for all groups, thereby making attendance quite difficult and threatening to one’s recovery. We hope that with your participation, we collectively are able to achieve this goal.

Al-Anon is a support organization for individuals impacted by another person’s drinking. In New York City, Lois W. and Anne B. formed the organization in 1951. Al-Anon is a twelve-step program that helps its followers recover from the affects of living with a heavy drinker. It is an anonymous fellowship founded on the tenets of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
The group is open to anybody who has been negatively impacted by another person’s drinking. This includes partners, children, parents, siblings, and friends. Al-Anon is also open to anyone who have been impacted by the drug usage of another. The group offers a safe and friendly atmosphere in which participants may discuss their experiences and emotions with others who have had similar ones.
Al-Anon meetings are organized in over 130 countries throughout the globe. There are about 24,000 organizations globally, with over 1,500 in the United States alone. Al-Anon is a self-supporting organization that is sustained by its members’ voluntary contributions.
