They lost a loved one or there wife or husband left them. They broke up with their boyfriend or girlfriend and they are hurting and drugs or alcohol is the only way they know how to cope. There are a hundred different reasons why people turn to alcohol or drugs. Helping an addict understand why they do it and giving them the tools to find news was to deal with these issues without drugs or alcohol is big step toward recovery.
