National 12 step meetings and Anonymous Groups is a growing repository of meeting data for all well-known established 12 step groups. From coast-to-coast in the USA, this is a growing and free resource to update meetings for all anonymous 12 step groups. The purpose is simple. Provide necessary logistics via maps, precisely the location of a community of people seeking recovery in a private setting. Often times, there isn’t one resource that compiles the meeting locations for all groups, thereby making attendance quite difficult and threatening to one’s recovery. We hope that with your participation, we collectively are able to achieve this goal.

Food Addicts Anonymous (FAA) is a 12-step program that offers support and guidance to individuals who struggle with food addiction. This group provides a safe and supportive environment where members can share their experiences, strength, and hope in overcoming their addiction to food. What is Food Addicts Anonymous?

 

Food Addicts Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other in order to recover from their addiction to food. The program is based on the 12-step model used by Alcoholics Anonymous, and it is open to anyone who wants to recover from their addiction to food.

 

The primary purpose of FAA is to help members achieve abstinence from food addiction, as well as to develop a healthy relationship with food. The program provides a supportive and non-judgmental environment where members can share their experiences, gain strength from others, and learn from one another.

 

How does it work?

 

FAA uses a 12-step program to help individuals overcome their addiction to food. The steps are based on spiritual principles and are designed to help members identify and address the underlying issues that contribute to their addiction. The program also encourages members to establish a connection with a higher power, which can help them find the strength and guidance they need to overcome their addiction.

 

The 12 steps of FAA are as follows:

 

We admitted we were powerless over food—that our lives had become unmanageable.

Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to food addicts and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

In addition to the 12 steps, FAA also provides support through meetings and fellowship. Members attend meetings where they can share their experiences, listen to others, and learn new ways of coping with their addiction. Meetings are held both in-person and online, and they are free to attend.
